Internet Safety
With 17 million youth ages 12 through 17
using the Internet it is crucial to empower them to make responsible
decisions online. The Internet provides immediate access to a wealth of
information
and the ability to communicate with
friends 
family all over the world. However, it is
also
important to understand the potential
risks
children can be exposed to including
inappropriate material, sexual
solicitation,
cyberbullying, or theft of personal
information.
Diode Communications, the Nebraska State
Patrol and Jet the Net Detective have
teamed
up to offer Internet safety presentations
for
grades K-2, 3-6, middle, high-school and
parents/communities utilizing resources
provided by the Netsmartz Organization.
